The Family Fun Zone is home to the Kidz Zone organized by the Clinton Township Parks & Recreation Department and a number of community service groups, food vendors, and touch-a-truck activity. The 24th annual Eastpointe Cruisin’ Gratiot event kicks off June 15 with a classic car show at First State Bank and concludes on June 17 with the actual cruise between Eight Mile and 10 Mile roads. Classic cars, street rods, special interest vehicles and more will roll into Chesterfield Township this weekend for the 2023 North Gratiot Cruise.

The Clinton Township Gratiot Cruise is the biggest and best event on Gratiot Avenue. This summertime tradition is an opportunity to showcase our community to neighboring residents, and visitors from across the state and midwest. With almost 250,000 in attendance the cruise has continually increased each year in attendance, classic cars, family activities, and business involvement year after year. Cruise Headquarters has a public Car Show for $20. Registration will also be available at any of the pre-cruise car shows prior to the cruise. Entrance in the car show guarantees a parking spot at Cruise Headquarters all day long and the opportunity to be included in the Cruise Parade!

Gratiot is in the middle of a Michigan Department of Transportation (MDOT) $22.6 million resurfacing project from 14 Mile Road to Wellington Crescent, which also happens to be the cruise boundaries. Two lanes of the road in each direction is closed for construction. The inaugural event was such a hit, others jumped on board including Loco Joe, who was a performer at the event. From there, the group formalized into a committee and joined forces with Bob Turner, who was the Clinton Township Goodfellows president at that time.

This week’s Gratiot Cruise weekly car show partners with Music & Movie in the Park Night on Wednesday at the Clinton Township Civic Center, Romeo Plank Road (at Canal Road).
In the Value City Furniture parking lot on Gratiot Avenue, south of 23 Mile Road, near Cotton Road. More than 30 local artisans are expected to participate, offering products ranging from jewelry, art and edibles to clothing and toys. The kids zone will offer free games for all ages, as well as face painting. The festivities begin on Thursday, June 15 with a car show at First State Bank located at Nine Mile Road.
